Every year we take a large group to Wisconsin and make it a point to take two brewery tours (Sprecher & Lakefront) Both tours are very informative, albeit different in style. They have about ten beers on tap, and if you work it right you can sample all of them, although I would recommend skipping the micro-light. I don't know if they brew this to give the Miller fans a choice, but it doesn't equal the quality of their other beers. The hefe is one of the best I've had and the Black Bavarian pops with flavor and smoothness. Don't stop with the beer, because their sodas are top shelf. Made with all natural ingredients (fruit, honey, ginger root, etc) these are some of the best sodas I've tasted. The brewery is very family friendly, especially with the sodas. The gift shop offers a wide variety of merchandise at a reasonable price.

A very good tour, and fantastic beer. Each tour participant can receive four 4 oz samples of beer (they want to keep it family friendly) and as many samples of soda as wanted (don't knock the sodas -- they are fantastic as well). My wife and I by sharing samples were able to taste 8 of the 10 brews on tap, skipping the Maibock and Micro-Light. The hefe had a great almost nuttiness to it that made it distinct from other wheat micros I've had. Pub Ale was very smooth, dopplebock was fantastic. We loved the Abbey Triple, and the Imperial Stout had marvelous notes of caramel and coffee. The porter was a disappointment, a bit thinner and not as sweet as expected. The Amber was quite a bit hoppier than we expected too. They also let us taste the Irish Stout, and the chocolate in it is very forward in the taste. Highly recommended.

Took the tour again, guide was very knowledgeable. Beer selection is always great, as are the beers. The little girl behind the bar needs to keep her Bush bashing to herself. If she is going to make political statements, she needs to be alot more informed on the issues. Kind of put a bad taste in my mouth about the place.

Well, well. . . Who would have thought such a terrific brewing was in the heart of Miller country? An entertaining tour guide led a fairly large group (30+ people) through the works in Glendale. He was knowledgeable and open to any and all questions. The one seasonal they didn't have on tap was the IPA, what a SHAME! What a SHAME I only bought 3 bottles on the way out. That's ok, I have a relative coming into NJ next week and I plan to place an order. The Black Bavarian is a terrific representation if the style and was the first beer produced by Mr. Sprecher. Now, I need to phone Mr. Sprecher and see if we can line up a distributor a little closer to NJ/NY than Ohio.

Great, very informative tour, with generous sampling. Beers are all above average and the Cream Soda and Ginger Ale are the best there is.

Brewers of quite a few good beers - especially the Imperial Stout, Black Bavarian, Mai Bock, and IPA. While these aren't going to be winning any international competitions, they are all very good. The brewery tour is one of the better ones I've been on, and as expected, ends with pints of beer. Sprecher also makes some really good sodas - their Ginger Ale is one of the best I've had (very spicy!), the Root Beer and Orange Dream (Creamsicle-like) are tasty, and their new Raving Red (cherry-cranberry soda) is very good as well. Sprecher is worth a visit if you've got some time in Milwaukee.

I credit Sprecher Amber and Black Bavarian for pulling me away from my pilsner-only beer consumption habit. From there I branched out and have since tried hundreds of beers of all varieties from around the world. In retrospect Sprecher isn't all that spectacular a brewery, but I have to give them props for being the ones who showed me the light.

I am able to buy their beer here in Michigan and everyone I have tried is exceptional. I like the black bavarian the best but the pub, pale, oktoberfest, and winterbrew are all excellent. Even the hefe weiss is great and I am not a wheat beer lover

Toured the brewery twice and enjoyed myself both times. A visit is also a good lesson in brewing and beer history. I, too, enjoy the Black Bavarian the best. They also have a large business selling Root Bear (also yummy). Check this one out if you're in the area.

I visited the brewery to buy some of their beer. The hefe-weizen, mai-bock, irish stout, and porter did not disappoint. I'm from Philly and I'd buy this stuff if it was available.

One of the best micro breweries we have ever been. The beer was great. The little tasting room is made to look like a little german beer hall. Everyone was great. The root beer was just as good as the other beers.

I just had a bottle of the anniversary ale last night and found it to be a true joy to drink. The raspberry flavor is just right. I would like to see them try their hand at some German style ales(alt & kolsch)

We started buying beer from Randy when the brewery was very young; I probably have some of his original bottles (which he aquired from another local brewery)in my garage. This beer is of the highest quality & Randy is truly a master at his craft.

Add the seasonal "Fest" beer to the list of outstanding products. My only regret is I can't get it here.

Randy Sprecher has been a favorite brewer of mine for about seven years. I just this year ('97) finally got to tour the brewery. It was well worth the wait. His Black Bavarian is one of the best beers brewed in the US. Great beers, and a great guy. For that matter, great city!
